Political correctness gone too far (again)

Update 6/10/07: The original thread here has been deleted. First, I want to apologize for offending any single individual. My original post was meant to provide an example of what I thought was political correctness gone too far. The example did not name anyone or even give a geographical area. Unfortunately, some responses to my post – and I thank all those that posted on both sides of the issue – became too personal and made the anecdote less anonymous, which was not my original intention. Food allergies are a serious issue and I was not making light of them. It’s a major health concern for many and one that deserves serious attention from researches looking to ease the sufferings of a person with life-threatening allergies. -Jason
