Microsoft made a few key announcements today to lure the startup. That’s not unusual, of course. Microsoft has always been big on small businesses. But the fervor has perhaps increased in response to competition from Google Apps . Here’s the news: Microsoft, Bank of America, FedEx and MasterCard have built StartupCenter.com where Microsoft hopes to sell Office Live while the others sell their shipping and financial services. But it also offers free Webcasts from folks like Julie Clark, founder of Baby Einstein, and Guy Kawasaki, author and venture capitalist. Nice to sit in the comfort of home and attend seminars by interesting folks. Registration is required, but you can check them out here .
Meanwhile, Microsoft has posted an inspirational webinar from author Dr. Stephen Covey, best known for penning “7 Habits of Highly Effective People “ Covey’s online seminar is part of the Microsoft Office Live Web Seminar Series for small businesses.
