Micro$oft has released a “microcode patch” for Intel processors running XP/2003/Vista. Huh? If there is a defect in the microcode, how is it that Micro$oft can patch it, and why would it effect only some versions of Windows? On which Intel processors? The patch details aren’t very helpful:
A microcode reliability update is available that improves the reliability of systems that use Intel processors.
