‘Centro’ is a new SKU for Microsoft.
It is a mid-market (75-300 seat) complete Windows Server family product in the same vein as Windows Server SBS, actually coming as a grown up offering to Server SBS.
‘Centro’ is a 64-bit only, three physical server product that, in our tests so far, seem to place less of a strain on the boxes it is installed on than using BackOffice in a previous version of Server.
This (feature-complete?)release also creates an opportunity for us to test it in a virtual environment as well as physical.
For beta 1 of this mid-market product, we tested on 3 discreet systems.
We will be testing the CTP on both the same three systems, and in a virtualized environment as well.
