The blogosphere is ablaze with the unconfirmed report that the CEO of Linux vendor Linspire has resigned. His exit comes just weeks after the company signed up to a controversial patent agreement with Microsoft. Linux-Watch on Monday published an interview with Kevin Carmony in which he said he had left on July 31 to work on other projects such as Mitt Romney’s campaign to become a Republican presidential candidate.

Linspire has not made a formal announcement about the transition to its third CEO. But in a press release issued Wednesday, it ran a quote by Larry Kettler, formerly the company’s top sales guy, with his new title as CEO, reports XML Journal.
