With all the attention given to Vista, the fact that XP is quietly humming along maintaining its popularity has been lost. Still, for those not ready to move to Vista, Microsoft announced good news, reports Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine. SP3 for XP is scheduled to hit the streets in the first half of the year. Not surprisingly, Microsoft is remaining relatively hush-hush about what the SP will include, as it continues to focus its marketing blitz attention on its latest desktop OS, Vista. This is all a Microsoft spokesperson said on the record, according to the story:
“’We’re currently planning to deliver SP3 for Windows XP in the first half of CY2008. This date is preliminary, and we don’t have any more details to share at this time.’”
The last service pack for XP was released in August, 2004.
