For those in the midst of planning an enterprise rollout to Vista and 2007 Microsoft Office, Microsoft released a tool called Vista Hardware Assessment. The tool, according to its makers, searches out the PCs on a network and reports if they are “Vista ready” or not. Microsoft has just announced an updated version of the tool, even though the last update was launched in June. VHA 2.1 has added support for six more languages in addition to English, German, French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Brazilian Portuguese, according to Microsoft product manager Baldwin Ng’s blog. It also now has IP range scanning and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) detection of non-Windows machines and network devices.
