Cisco is losing its grip of the Web phone market, while Avaya expanded its lead, according to a report in Bloomberg Markets.
Bloomberg cites figures from Synergy Research Group which reports that Cisco’s share of the IP phones market dropped 24.5% in the second quarter, from 25.2% in the first quarter. Cisco’s overall share of the market a year earlier was 24.3%.
Meanwhile, Avaya’s share rose to 25.4% in Q2 from 25.3% in Q1.
Nortel and Alcatel-Lucent ranked third and fourth.
