Cisco is creeping up on Brocade in certain areas of the storage-area networking market for the third quarter in a row, according to the Dell Oro Group’s second quarter study of the SAN market, as reported by TechTarget’s SearchStorage.
Cisco showed a gain of 3.6 points to win the No. 1 position in the modular switch market. Cisco claims it has seen a 65% year-over-year growth in this market, according to SearchStorage. Brocade retains its lead status in the fixed fabric switch market, with 84% market share, down 0.4% over the last year, according to SearchStorage.
