As Cisco works hard to become a consumer brand that will roll off the general public’s tongue as easily as Virgin and McDonalds, CEO John Chambers is doing the rounds of interviews with the general press. Last week, he was in the ‘hot seat’ at the Boston Globe, which asked him such pointed questions as who do you root for, Red Sox or Oakland A’s, and do you think a barrier to becoming a consumer-facing company would be confusion with the food services company Sysco?
Chambers answers: A’s, and “I haven’t gotten any complaints about my truck drivers for a number of years . . .”
Does he have a spot on Jay Leno yet?
