I saw a couple of great articles this morning talking about how the new Sharepoint and community integration strategy makes Microsoft the new Facebook for the enterprise. That’s quite a leap forward and I can see why it is happening.
I have blogged previously about Academy Mobile , which I think is a huge step in the right direction with social networking for Sharepoint. When you consider the out of the box functionality and integration into your corporate Active Directory infrastructure, you have a hugely configuarble platform to create whatever environment you need.
The articles have created excitement within the sharepoint community, documenting:
“deployment of a MOSS 2007-based social networking service over the next several months to about 110,000 employees of Wachovia, the 4th largest bank in the U.S.”
So I pinged these links over to Michael Gannotti and he told me that Wachovia is one of his clients and he has worked on that roll out.
