Office 2003 SP3 released, but kills off features

For those in no hurry to move to Office 2007, Microsoft has released Service Pack 3 for Office 2003, reports the Download Squad blog. It includes a bunch of security updates, and corrects some compatibility problems with Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7. However, it also shuts off a few features, too. PowerPoint will no longer be able to open PowerPoint files created in versions earlier than PowerPoint 97. (Though, how much of a loss can that be? How many of us need to access presentations that are a decade old?) Microsoft claims that these old files are a security risk. But if you are a presentation pack rat, may want to convert your old files before upgrading.
