This time it was Intel’s turn to shine at its own show: Intel announced an open source project called LessWatts.org, which aims to improve the power efficiency of the Linux operating system and applications. A 3D user interface called Miramar, developed by Intel researchers during the late 1990s, will be used in an upcoming release of Qwaq’s Qwaq Forums collaboration tool. Intel has described Miramar as “one of those lucky inventions rescued from the trash bin of history.”
