Cisco is top of the pile of vendors bidding for the prize of building a $3 billion private fixed-line phone network in Saudi Arabia, reports ArabianBusiness.com.
The new infrastructure is being funded by a partnership between Saudi Optical communication and Verizon Communications for the development of infrastructure and services to support its fixed-line network.
Cisco is bidding against Nokia, Ericsson, Alcatel, and others to build the advanced fibe optics network planned to link 21 Saudi cities in its first seven years of operation, reports ArabianBusiness.com.
