Cisco has added a service to its Network Admission Control product that enables authorized end users to set up guest access to the corporate network without having to go through the IT department.
The Secure Guest service works with the Cisco NAC Appliance and the Cisco Wireless Controller to enable end users to set up guest accounts for business partners and suppliers that are governed by the policy established by the network administrator, according to a story in eWeek.
End users intent on doing malicious harm with this privilege should know that the system will record who has created the account, including a detailed history of guests accessing the network, warns Cisco.
Is this a useful service that would help taken the burden off you in having to establish guest access, or would you much rather continue to have full control of that?
