There’s an interesting discussion thread going on at Network World’s WAN Newsletter, penned by industry consultants Steve Taylor and Jim Metzler. They recently wrote a newsletter pondering on what has happened to Cisco’s competitors. How did Cisco get to its current position, despite there having been better and more innovative technologies from rivals, some of whom are long dead. So what happened and will someone eventually appear as David to Cisco’s Goliath.
