This is from a post on Dmitry’s blog last week (Link). Would have gotten to this sooner, but I was recovering from Turkey poisoning. Anyhow… in his post he explains how Microsoft is adopting PowerShell within their Common Engineering Criteria (CEC) for 2009. That being said, some aspect of PowerShell support must be part of all server products shipped within their 2009 financial year (July 1, 2008).
Hmmmm… yeah, the writing on the wall has been there for some time. But, it is really nice to see confirmation of this. PowerShell is truly a good thing and it’s great to see that the wave of support for it continues to grow. So that being said, if you haven’t taken time to learn PowerShell, I highly suggest that you start. You can either pick up one of the many great books that are out there (I just happened to have written one, shameless marketing). Or if reading a book isn’t your thing, you can bring yourself up to speed with some of the great blogs. I happen to like Mastering PowerShell in your Lunch Break. Or you may want to look into the growing number of training courses. (Again, shameless marketing, I happen to be working on one).
