Seattle Times blogger Brier Dudley reports that Microsoft has bought WebFives (formerly known as Vizrea). WebFives is a social networking site for sharing videos, music, photos from mobile devices. It was founded by a former Microsoftie, Mike Toutonghi, who was a distinguished engineer for the company prior to starting Vizrea in 2004, Dudley reports.
Although WebFives hasn’t, apparently, been a huge success, the technology it uses to upload and share content is said to be of interest to Microsoft for its MSN and Live services.
