Princeton University is hosting a two-day workshop called “Computing in the Cloud” on its campus Jan. 14-15. The event is free and open to the public.
Cloud computing refers to the movement by individuals to hand over storage and management of their data to companies and services such as Google (Gmail, YouTube), MySpace, Flickr, Facebook and Microsoft (Hotmail).
Issues being addressed at the event will include end user privacy, legal issues across country borders, the real meaning of community and what lies ahead.
On a somewhat related note, my own dabbling of late with Mixx.com , a newish social media site.
