Congratulations to Danny Rumsey, senior network administrator at Brazosport Regional Health System in Lake Jackson, Texas for winning last month’s free Cisco training course giveaway. Rumsey gets to choose a course of his choice worth $3,495 and delivered by Cisco training partner Skyline-ATS.
Danny has an MCSE in both Windows NT and Windows 2000, and is looking forward to taking his first steps into Cisco certifications. His employer recently installed two VoIP systems in branch offices, and those are supported by three Cisco Catalyst 3560 switches and a Catalyst 6509-E device. The latter is used as a core switch to segment VoIP and data networks into a VLAN, as well as to support QoS services and the security in the Cisco devices.
Danny has been at Brazosport Regional Health System for 16 years, the first nine of which was spent carrying out plant maintenance, and supporting the cabling for the dumb terminals, connecting taps to connect term servers, along with the usual telco responsibilities, he says. “That experience along with a love of learning about PCs and networking, I was able to work into a full time MIS job and now manage all the servers and network.”
We’re giving our training Santa a break this month as he is busy with some other gig he’s got going in December, but he will be back soon with more training goodies. Stay tuned!
The book Santa is still with us this month, so click here to see what’s up for grabs.
