In what might be called the much hyped MSRC’s coming out party, they’ve launched a public site and blog. MSRC stands for Microsoft Security Response Center. This group inside MS is run by Vinny Gullotto, formerly of Symantec and McAfee. He’s quite the character in person. Aptly named, he reminds me of Joe Pesci’s character in My Cousin Vinny. That said he knows security, especially on the web. This blog should be a great source of info on Microsoft Security. MS has traditionally been very closed on security while Vinny is known for blowing everything wide open… only time will tell whose strategy will prevail.
