Yes, I promised another PKI posting… but, I wanted to talk about the Internet Explorer 8 and Acid2: A Milestone posting on the IEBlog.

Yes, I realize this is old news.  However, I think that this development is a something that deserves just a little more attention.  After all, the IE team has taken the stance that IE 8 will follow standards and focus on interoperability.  Naturally… my jaw dropped.  Can the IE team actually live up to this new fairy tale of a promise?  This is a big promise… from Microsoft, who has a habit of “improving upon standards”.  While they have some proof of this direction thanks to this posting and a nice little video: Link.  RTM for IE 8 is still a long way off…

What are your thoughts?  I happen to think very positively about this friendlier stance from MS.  Heck, a standards based browser that has a large percentage of the browser installations would make Web development that much easier!
