Watch out Cisco – you will be overshadowed by Apple in the not-to-distant future. Georges Yared of Yared Investment Research, writing in BloggingStocks.com reckons Apple’s market capitalization will peak over Cisco’s market cap of around $159 billion, even though Apple has yet to report its December 2007 quarter results. Yared reports that Apple’s current market cap of $156 billion has already overshot that of IBM at $142 billion. It took Apple less than 2 years to beat IBM’s market cap, and Yared reckons Apple will surpass Cisco in the next few months, if not weeks.
Yared says Apple’s “cycle for iPod, iPhone and the new Mac will last well into the next decade,” and that Cisco will enjoy solid growth but that its mega growth days are behind it. I guess Jared hasn’t seen Cisco recent push into the consumer space – or perhaps he has but doesn’t believe it will make much difference to Cisco’s growth …
