Microsoft has confirmed that it will ship Windows Server 2008 in February, on or before the big launch day celebration on Feb. 27, InformationWeek reports. Although Microsoft has been moving full-steam ahead with its party planning, the company has been non-committal as to when the server product would actually be available.

The party will be hosted in Los Angeles and will also celebrate the launch of Visual Studio 2008 (officially released in November) and SQL Server 2008. SQL remains on track for a release of Q2 ’08, officials say.
