Cisco has teamed with Intel to expand IBM’s open a high-performance computing center in Montpellier, France, allowing customers, independent software vendors and partners to test and benchmark analytic software, engineering, aerospace design and other high-performance applications. The center features InfinBand-based cluster computers from IBM, Intel’s top-of-the-line multicore processors and Cisco Ethernet gear. Cisco supplied the Cisco SFS7000 and SFS3000 Infiniband technology for use on HPC clusters. The technology is also used for financial trading systems, according to an IBM press release.
