I wanted to put this out to our readers; could Cisco add Bio Fingerprint Readers to IP Phones? While security is at a premium with IP Phones that are just lying around public areas of companies, this could be a great solution. Think about a fingerprint reader that was built into a phone and would provide security to the enterprise by allowing only identified users to make unrestricted calls. A finger would need to be swiped for each call to allow the proper security focus to be applied.
What do you think? Will Cisco ever do this?
Will another vendor beat them to the punch?
