ISkoot offers Cisco carrier customers integration with next generation IP networks

Mobile Internet voice and chat service provider to the carrier business, iSkoot, will next week demonstrate interoperability with Cisco’s IP Next-Generation Network (IP NGN). ISkoot says is has completed integration and interoperability testing with Cisco’s AS5000 Series Universal Gateway and the Cisco PGW 2200 Softswitch, a carrier-class softswitch that performs signaling and call-control tasks to interconnect next-generation IP networks to the PSTN, according to iSkoot. The demonstration will take place at the European Mobile World Congress taking place next week in Barcelona, Spain. ISkoot’s software allows users to view their buddy lists, make and receive Internet calls, and enjoy instant messaging using nearly any mobile handset, according to iSkoot.
