Good-bye computing labs, hello pseudo-coffee shops

College computing labs are going the way of rotary phones and are being replaced with areas more like coffee shops that are conducive to chatting with friends or working with fellow students, according to Iowa State University’s CIO. The Des Moines Register writes: “This generation is expert in multitasking,” said Jim Davis, chief information officer at ISU. “They communicate electronically, but it’s a highly connected group of people.” Read more here.
