MIT’s Media Lab (now led by former Tivoli chief Frank Moss) has given us a heads up that it plans to have an event May 15 to announce a research project that will rely on gobs of storage to support what it calls “the most extensive scientific analysis of infant learning patterns every undertaken.” The project will involve cobbling together low-cost storage systems from a consortium including Bell Microproducts, Marvell,
Seagate and Zetera to support from terabytes up to petabytes.
