Maybe Net2Phone has a beef. Maybe Skype really has infringed on its patent, as the company alleges in a lawsuit just filed in New Jersey. And maybe Net2Phone would have filed this lawsuit under any circumstances.

But maybe — just maybe — that lawsuit became a tad easier to file once Skype was purchased last year for $2.6 billion by eBay.

Can’t you just see the patent attorney’s eyes lighting up?
