Business 2.0 just published a curious article titled “10 People Who Don’t Matter” with the tag line ” … here are the people you can safely snub at conferences.” Let’s see, who’s on the list?
Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer. Sure go ahead, snub him. Sony Computer Entertainment’s Ken Kutaragi. Who cares? Sun’s Jonathan Schwartz. Fegeddaboutit. But if you do, don’t expect to ever to business with them. Ever. What the article is trying to get at is hard to fathom as most of them are people of some stature in and importance to the business world. While poking fun at the likes of Jeffrey Citron, Chairman and chief strategist of Vonage, who would seem to be a piece of work in anyone’s book making snide remarks about Linus Torvalds seems childish.
