Carnegie Mellon outsmarts Texas Hold’Em programs

Carnegie Mellon University researchers have created a robot that uses knowledge of game theory, not poker smarts, to beat online Texas Hold’Em programs. And the technology could have applications for e-commerce, too, the lead researcher says. Oh, and it’s way harder to beat an online poker program than a chess one, the researcher says.
