SUMIT_06 (Security for U-M Information Technology 2006) takes place Aug. 15 at the University of Michigan, which is hosting the event along with the Merit Network, a research and education network.

Speakers include reps from Microsoft, Symantec and other tech vendors. Also on the agenda is a pair of IT security pros from Comerica bank who will talk about anti-phishing.

And let’s not overlook speaker Deviant Ollam, who will opine on the fine art of lockpicking. Which reminds me, we did a piece on the lockpicking craze among IT folks not too long ago.
