The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and Internet2 announced today that they are looking to develop a secure network for exchanging data, including images, among healthcare organizations. The effort would likely support the National Health Information Network being pushed by the U.S. government to improve patient care and reduce medical errors in implementing electronic health records.
