Here’s something new: A video game ban we actually believe in.
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt (Ed. – Great name for a governor) has banned inmate video game use in state prisons, when it was discovered they were allowed to play violent titles such as “Hitman: Contracts.”
“Our penitentiaries are punitive institutions where those who have committed crimes against society are sent to pay for their actions. They are not meant to be arcades,” Blunt said.
The ban covers all video games, violent or not. The story, broken by the Kansas city Star in December, said inmates had been using profits from the prison canteen to buy video games.
