
Authorities say Bess Carney, 27, created an e-mail account under her former co-worker’s name to send harassing e-mails to herself. Police say Carney then forwarded those e-mails to friends “in an attempt to portray the former co-worker as unstable,” writes USA Today.
“A lot of people are doing this,” said Detective Kenneth Tisdel of Burlington Police’s High Technology Crimes Unit. “We will find out you did it no matter what you delete. The
evidence is there. We will find it.” He said the investigation included 80 hours of
computer forensic work.
