Bolton has lived in Mink since 1959, but BellSouth never got around to wiring the community until now. She and her neighbors started petitioning the phone company for lines in 1970.
“We’d talk to the phone company but they’d never call back,” she said.
Well, jeez, Alice, how could they, you didn’t have a phone.
Regardless, Bolton and her neighbors finally have telephones. The funny part is, the first time Gov. Blanco tried to call Bolton, the line was busy.
