Dell rolls out iPod rival

“Dude, you got a Dell!” will have a whole new meaning as the company rolls out its MP3 iPod Shuffle rival: DJ Ditty. And the meaning is, “Dude – ew! – you got a Dell…” (Ed. – Kinda the same meaning if you get stuck with a Dell PC, too.)

Dell says DJ Ditty is a better value than the Shuffle because it uses an audio format that compresses digital music files more efficiently. The company says its device can hold up to 220 songs while the Shuffle stores about 120. Both players are $99 and come with 512M bytes of memory.

But the Dell DJ Ditty loses with its incredibly stupid name. Who came up with that?
