Does e-mail make you fat?

Our comrades in desktops across the pond will celebrate “Email-Free Friday” this week in a bid to get them a little exercise.

The Register reports that Sport England’s Everday Sport campaign is meant “to encourage the desk-bound to get off their fat arses and circulate around their work environments with calorie-burning enthusiasm.”

Sport England health experts say we’re getting wider because we can now simply send our info around the office instead of hoofing it to the appropriate person or department.

“People e-mail colleagues who sit next to them, never mind those who work on the other side of the office. We have to change people’s lazy attitudes,” Sport England health advisor Dr. Dorian Dugmore.

Hey, we like our lazy attitude, we worked pretty hard to hone it to a sloth-like perfection. It would be quitting to abandon it now.
