Amathophobics Local 7-2 shows off their new banner for the upcoming Macy’s parade.
Who knew the Weekly Caption Contest could be educational? Surely, not us. But it’s true as Paul Carroll’s winning entry sent us right to the dictionary to figure out what “Amathophobic” meant. Well, it wasn’t the winning entry until we knew what it meant, and then it was pretty darn good. Good enough, in fact, that Paul wins this week’s tilt and teaches us all a new word (“An abnormal and persistent fear of dust. Sufferers experience anxiety even though they realize dust poses no threat.”) in the process.
Now that’s the good news this week. The bad news is out 2+ year string of never repeating a photo is over due to our stupidity, as this picture was used earlier this year. We’ll plead ignorance as that was the time of our unfortunate incarcer-, um, “sabbatical.” Thanks to all our astute readers who let us know of the error and apologies to original winner Scott C., who will not have to relinquish his crown (we’ll just steal another one from Burger King).
