The Register reports today that World of Warcraft online gamers are using the anti-piracy software to cheat in their games. WoW runs an anti-cheat program called Warden, which scans the processes running during games to detect cheaters.
Writes The Reg: “[Warden] cannot detect any files that are hidden with Sony BMG’s content protection, which only requires that the hacker add the prefix $ to file names.”
