Fox’s Interactive Media unit has bought Internet start-ups Newroo and kSolo for the famous “undisclosed price.”
Newroo lets users search the Web for “relevant information from Web sites and blogs that can be used on their own Web sites.” OK, that’s a trick statement as there is no relevant information on any blog.
According to Reuters: “kSolo’s service lets users sing, record and share their own karaoke recordings by using a database of songs that include everything from ‘Oops I Farted Again’ by Parody to ‘New York, New York’ by Frank Sinatra.”
In other words, a perfect Fox purchase.
Fox is building a weird Frankenstein of a new media unit, which now features the frightening MySpace.com, this blog-info-gathering thingy and karaoke. Look out, Google!
