At TechEd yesterday, Redmond said it “found and removed malicious programs from six out of 10 Windows computers checked during a recent 15-month period.
“We’re seeing an extremely active level of activity,” Matthew Braverman, Microsoft product manager, told USA Today. “Most malicious software we see today affecting Windows customers is more tied to financial gain.”
Erm, most malicious software is tied to Windows because it’s the path of least resistance, plus it’s on, what 90-something percent of the world’s computers?
