No more rent-checking writing for Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

Google has announced it’ll be buying its Mountain View HQ for $319 million, otherwise known as “change Page and Brin found in the couch cushions.”

The nearly 1-million-square-foot headquarters, former home to SGI, is also known as the “Googleplex”. And don’t forget – Google’s building another million-square-foot campus just down the road from the Googleplex to accomodate its frightening growth.

The AP reports the 7-year-old behemoth already has more than 7,000 employees on the payroll and 1,800 job openings. (Ed. – Anyone seen my resume?)
