Searching for that rare, mint-on-card Porkins action figure? Still trying to hunt down that second-edition Mickey Mouse Club lunchbox, the one with the lead paint?

You, my friend, have the collecting gene. Well, maybe it’s not a gene, per se, but an obsession for collecting stuff is something you can’t learn, says author Marilynn Gelfman Karp. You’re just hard-wired that way.

Her new book, In Flagrante Collecto, looks at what drives collectors. Wired describes the book as “part cultural anthropology, part memoir.” Nifty.
