MySpace has been hit with a double whammy over the past few days.
First, users got hit with a virus-laden banner ad. We gotta admit we’re shocked this hasn’t happened earlier.
And then the No. 1 site on the ‘Net was down over the weekend, which company officials blamed on power outages at an LA data center. Co-founder and President Tom Anderson said the site “has been screwy” since Saturday because of failures in the main power supply and the back-up generators. No offsite backup? Nice!
The outage prompted big coverage with Our Favorite Headline Award going to The Register.
