Ray Noorda Dies at 82

Ray Noorda, best known as the man who guided Novell to its one time dominance of the network operating system market, died today at 82. I was co-founder of Novell UK Ltd. and I met Ray several times on his European trips. He always traveled in a non-descript rain coat, spoke quietly, and always appeared unruffled and unpretentious. A remarkable man and a remarkable life. Obits: Salt Lake Tribune, Reuters, Seattle Post-Intelligencer and latest Google News items.
