(Update: More bad news from Reddit on Thursday.)
The popular social bookmarking site, which was acquired by Conde Nast last month, has gone missing today – at least since about noontime Wednesday (it’s now 5 p.m. … make that 8:50 p.m. … 9:30 p.m. … Goodnight. … 4:45 a.m. Thursday … 6:30 a.m. … 8:20: They’re back).
The first presumption in such cases is technical difficulties, of course, but one has to ask if it might be something else given the recent ownership change. I’ve tried reaching the new ownership at Conde Nast by phone and e-mail, so far without luck.
Best info I’ve found online is via Digg.com, of all places, where this post can be found:

While reddit’s new DNS is propagating, you can visit reddit by adding the following to your /etc/hosts or c:WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts:
72.5.28.218 reddit.com
And I know a whole lot of people are asking the same question because I can see that you’re landing on this Buzzblog post – “My pet peeve about Reddit” – via Google searches on the word Reddit.
No idea when they’ll be back.
