If your desk is anything like mine at Layer 8 on any given day you might find the odd coffee stain and a few crumbs but our wouldn’t consider it dirty. But alas, the desktop is a foul, dirty place that should be treated with radiation security –like precautions. Ok, maybe that’s overkill but according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution story this week says your workplace is home to billions of creepy-crawling microbes and the chief reason for billions of dollars in lost worker productivity each year. And as we head into February, the worst month for employee absences, it’s worth noting that sick days cost American businesses $10 billion each year. The story goes onto say most offices are an all-you-can eat buffet for germs, staphylococcus and other bacteria. And your phones, be they desktop or cell are the leading carriers of bacteria in the office. We won’t even get into the office kitchen.
