Cisco workers pushed on video conference

Cisco is encouraging its 50,000 employees worldwide to stay in touch with co-workers, friends and family using its latest expensive toy – the Telepresence system, reports the Associated Press. Cisco Chief Globalization Officer Wim Elfrink, who just relocated to Bangalore, wants his admin assistant in San Jose to get one installed in her office so they can keep in touch “all day long.” Bet she’s looking forward to that.

Telepresence is too expensive and won’t catch on. Who wants to be blown up in high-def?
